Physical activity should not pose any problem or hazard to the majority of people. The following questions are designed to identify the small number of adults for whom physical activity might be inappropriate or those who should seek medical advice prior to initiating a fitness program or other change in their physical activity levels.

Are you over age 55 and/or not accustomed to vigorous exercise?

Do you have a history of heart disease?

Have you ever been diagnosed with high blood pressure?  If yes, when?

Are you taking prescription medications, such as those for heart problems or high
blood pressure?

Have you ever experienced chest pain, spells of severe dizziness, or fainting?

Do you have a history of respiratory problems, such as asthma?

Have you had surgery or any problems that might be aggravated by an exercise  program?
Do you have any physical or health reason not already mentioned that would keep you from following a weight training program?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions please consult your physician before beginning a new exercise program

It's always best to safe than sorry.  I can supply you with a Physician's Consent to Exercise form if you have any doubt about starting a new exercise program.
